Essay Question
Love argues that global problems move at internet speed; governments do not move so quickly.
Love also argues that none of these important global issues is captured by the traditional view of
International Relations (IR) and introduces her analytical framework, networked sovereignty. For
this essay, first, briefly explain how Love’s framework of analysis works. Second, using her
framework of networked sovereignty, analyze how a current global issue (choose one of the
following issues) has been (in)effectively addressed/governed. Third, conclude the essay with a
discussion of the challenges in addressing the global-scale problem.
(1) global refugee crisis
(2) global poverty
(3) global infectious diseases
(4) transnational terrorism
(5) global warming
