PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK FOR GRAMMAR ERRORS
For this assignment, illustrate or describe a time when you experienced cognitive dissonance and what technique you used to reduce that dissonance. You may choose to describe/illustrate a real-life situation involving you or someone you know, or you may also describe/illustrate the situation in the context of a video clip.
Following your description, respond to the following questions using what you learned in Chapter 6:
· Was this dissonance increased by the permanence of the decisions?
· Did this dissonance result in justification of effort or some sort of reward/punishment?
You may choose to complete this assignment as either a written reflection OR as an illustrated diagram. Whichever option you choose, review the assignment rubric before you begin to ensure you understand your instructor’s expectations. If you choose to describe/illustrate the situation in the context of a video clip, please provide a link to the video with your submission.
Written Reflection Option
Reflective writing is an activity that includes description (what, when, who) and analysis (how, why, what if). This reflective task may allow you to use different modes of writing and language:
· descriptive (outlining what something is or how something was done)
· explanatory (explaining why or how it is like that)
· expressive (I think, I feel, I believe)
In your writing, use full sentences and complete paragraphs. You can use personal pronouns like ‘I’, ‘my’ or ‘we,’ but keep colloquial language to a minimum (eg, kid, bff, stuff).
