I need to write a speech for my english final and I need help with it
Semester Two Final Exam
Over the past year, we have looked at what it means to be an American at different points through literary history. First, we explored Colonial America through The Crucible, where we see prejudice, justice, and tradition illustrated through the protagonists’ struggles. Then in The Great Gatsby, we saw how the immense wealth of the 1920s impacted the morality of Americans. Later we explored the events after World War Two and the impact it had on ordinary citizens in Slaughterhouse-Five. Finally, we ended by looking at challenges in our modern society through Columbine. For your final exam, I would like you to write a speech that answers the question: What does it mean to be an American in 2022? Your speech should clearly answer the question, give specific examples to support your claims, and be at least three minutes in length (this will be about a page of work).
Your speech should include:
At least a page of writing
Clear structure (introduction, claims, conclusion)
Specific examples to support your claims
One of these examples needs to be from a text we read this year
Your other examples should be from the US now
At least five examples of figurative language that are highlighted in yellow (ex. Simile, metaphor, alliteration, allusion, etc)
At least three vocabulary words from this semester highlighted in blue
