Chapter 1: Getting Started
The goal of the Journal assignments is to allow you to develop your professional writing style, identify
points of interest, and reflect on how the unit material and practicum experiences relate to your life
and career goals.
Instructions:
Each week, you will create a journal entry and respond to the provided questions. Using the text,
readings, and any additional research, discuss your learnings and insights. Also, share what you
think some of the challenges might be regarding these issues/topics.
Requirements:
• Respond fully to the journal prompts with thoughtful consideration related to the unit and
course concepts.
• Reflect on what you have learned and connect it to your life and practicum experience.
• Use clear and professional writing in your entries.
Be sure to read the criteria below by which your work will be evaluated before you write and
again after you write.
