Please answer all of these questions thoroughly and correctly
Citation: So that I can find the article (don’t care about AMA) (1 point)
Background – After reading the background what about this topic is known, and unknown? Does the objective of the study fill one of the unknowns? (1 point)
Methods –
Study Design: State the study design (1 point). How strong is this study design? What are its weaknesses? (2 points for strengths and weaknesses of the study design – admittedly regurgitation, but worth memorizing)
Outcomes: State the outcomes (2 points). Do the outcome match the unknowns? Does it make sense which is the primary vs secondary outcomes? Do they measure things for a long enough time? (2 points)
Statistics: State the statistical analysis used for the outcome analysis (2 points) – What don’t you understand? (1 point)
Results –First, look at Table 1 and does the population match what you would expect in clinical practice? Are the groups balanced? State the results and mention if it seems like the authors highlighting or failing to mention something important. (1 point)
Conclusions – Go back to the background/introduction where they set up why the study is important and its objective. Now read the conclusion. Did they hit the objective? Does this study matter? Do the result support the authors conclusion? (2 point)
