The purpose of this assignment is to provide an opportunity for you to evidence analysis and synthesis of readings about leadership and change completed during previous semesters. The Leadership Platform is a one-page document (Microsoft WORD) of your beliefs presented in a set of short paragraphs (each at least three sentences long).
This assignment should begin by your reflecting about how leadership theory can become useful in your professional/personal practice and writing down ideas in essay format. The next step is condensing ideas from your essay into a one-page statement about your understanding of leadership broken into four or five short, concise paragraphs (i.e., themes) that emerged from the final version of your essay. Developing this platform also provides a means for you to assess your readiness to assume leadership within organizations, which is an expected learning outcome for this course. Because drafting a well-developed professional platform requires considerable time, begin as soon as possible on this assignment.

*no cover page
In this essay, you are to take a myth of your choice and theorize a way in which a real world event could have inspired the story.
You’ll need to cite research from a reliable, quality source about an event, be it a flood, a war, a person or group of people or part of nature, that COULD have been the foundation of a myth. You do not have to be correct, but your theory must be plausible — so obviously the event you research must have come before the myth that it inspired.
You must also be able to find a reference to this myth in literature. A quote from a piece of literature from the period we are studying (pre-1650) that references or retells this myth would be great. Please stay away from modern “urban legends” like saying Bloody Mary into a mirror or alligators living in the New York sewage system. Although I do find those interesting and they are oral traditions, they aren’t really myths in the sense that we study in lit class .
If you’re having a hard time coming up with ideas, here are a few myths whose origins many scholars have already researched and written about: King Arthur, the Trojan War, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Atlantis, the Amazons, the Siege of Jericho, and Dracula. Sundiata/ Son Jara, whom we read about, was probably a real person
As you do research, I expect college level scholarship. Particularly for this paper, stay away from any religious source. Some of them have a vested interest in misreading history in order to prove their holy books correct.

This paper will allow you to review your personal behaviors and determine how they align with your values. This analysis may include recent actions and their outcome from an individual perspective. Please be sure to focus on your inner self in this paper, as the intent here is to create a better understanding of yourself. Some basic questions to guide your writing:
Who are you? What is your purpose here?
What are your values and their respective definitions?
How might you have sacrificed your values for progress in the past?
How do you ensure that your actions are consistent with your values?
What does it mean to BE a leader?
What is your vision for yourself?
Please be sure to construct a values/vision statement for yourself and make sure it is clear and concrete with minimal assumptions.
This analysis and value statement is approximately 2–4 pages in length. As this is a graduate level course, use a minimum of three scholarly resources from the library within the last ten years, to provide the research support for your analysis.
