For this assignment you are once again reading the Schnuck case that is attached as a file and do not use outside resources:

  1. State the law applied by the court in making its decision:  The law section states the rule of law that the court applied to reach its holding or decision. This section isn’t even provided in full sentences as you’re simply naming the law used and the location where it can be found.  For example, if it’s a case the title would be Smith v. United States and its citation is where it’s found, 312 U.S. 212 (1989).  If it’s a statute, the name might be The Lanham Act, found in 42 U.S.C. 1310.  Many people learning to analyze a case will define the law in this section, but that is not appropriate.
  2. Complete the rationale section: The Rationale section is the longest section of the issue analysis and its where you explain, in your words, how the court reached its decision.  You want to discuss the applicable law and how the law does or doesnt apply to the facts.  This section alone should be 1000 words and 3 or more paragraphs.  Please make sure you use proper sentence and paragraph structure.
  3. Use the following format and submit your assignment as a Word document.
    • Law:
    • Rationale:
