Research Proposal Prospectus
So far in class, you have identified your potential topic, identified the purpose and
questions you would specifically like to address, and outlined your literature
review for Part 2.
For this part of the research prospectus, you are going to address Part 3
and the methods you would like to use for your study. To accomplish this, you
will need to address the following:
1) Describe the research design you would like to use for your study. Will you use experimental research, correlational research, causal comparative research, survey (descriptive) research, qualitative research, or mixed methods research. Identify the design you will use and explain why you want to use this design for your study.
2) Describe the population and sample (if appropriate) for your study. Give a
general overview of the makeup of your population you are wanting to study.
If you are going to use a sample, then identify what sampling technique you
would like to use and why this sampling technique would be appropriate.
3) Describe how you would like to collect data for your study. Do you want to
use a survey, do interviews, conduct observations, etc. You DO NOT have to
develop the data collection instrument, but just describe what you would
like to use and why you think this would be the best option for collectingdata. of the assignments for this course is to develop a research prdata.
