Week 1
This week upload and submit as hard copy in class your narrative about your short and long term goals for your Constructive Action this semester. Remember in terms of take aways that you are required to, at a minimum for two of your goals develop a Business Plan and a Market Plan/Strategy. The third goal is up to you, but must be in terms of planning as is consistent with the Purpose.
Upload and hand in hard copy in class your Plan of Action laying out your Objectives, Methodologies and Evaluation Plan for each of your short term goals for the semester.
Week 2
This week, after reading and reviewing the materials and engaging in Constructive Actions, prepare, upload and submit a hard copy in class of your Mission Statement, Vision, description of your company and the business entity you will be choosing for your business venture.
Week 3
Upload your final plan of action outlining your Short Term Goals, Objectives that must be competed to ensure you achieve your goals, the Strategies or Methodologies that you will use to reach your objectives and a plan to evaluate the success of your strategies and objectives in bringing your closer to reaching your goals.
Upload your analysis of your Work Setting (the specifics are outlined in your Purpose Handbook.) Keep in mind if your business will operate via a website, you must also include a description of how you will lay out the website and how your customer will navigate the site. To ensure that you are engaging in actual analysis, be sure to include answers to why you are laying out the website as you are planning and what needs of the customer you are meeting/addressing by the proposed navigation planned for the website.
Week 4
As part of your business plan and situational analysis, you need to describe your industry (Is it a growth industry?) and briefly describe what changes you anticipate in the industry. You should also describe how your company will be poised to take advantage of the anticipated trends and changes. Finally provide a few paragraphs highlighting your company strengths and core competencies. As part of the company strengths and core competencies, indicate what factors will make the company succeed. What do you think your major competitive strengths will be? What background experience, skills, and strengths do you personally bring to this new venture?
Upload a competitive SWOT outlining your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Your SWOT must take into account your Porter’s Five Forces and PEST Analysis done in CA1. Be sure to identify the resources and capabilities your company possesses to deliver value to your customers.
Week 5
Upload your needs analysis
Upload your questionnaire with at least 20 questions that you will administer to gather “marketing” information. You also need to provide an analysis of what your are trying to ascertain and how the questions you are asking will help you achieve your objective.
Upload your assessment of your target market by describing your ideal targeted customer and their demographic characteristics. As part of your analysis be sure to indicate the size of your target market in terms of dollars or other measurable identifiers. The most important aspect of your analysis of your target market will be an indepth assessment and description of what need or want your ideal consumer would be trying to satisfy if they purchased your product or service. Be sure to support your statistics with appropriate citations and avoid just presenting a recitation of market research/data.

Week 6
Prepare an analysis of the ethical implications of your CA. For example, how will your venture impact the community? How will it improve the lives of your customers or employees? What efforts are you taking to incorporate a sense of social responsiblity in the development and planning of your venture?

Week 7
Upload your plan to segment your target market. Be sure to explain why you are proposing to segment the market as you are proposing and what unique market plan distinctions you will address with each segment.
Week 8
Upload your analysis of your three main competitors. Be sure to explain why these are your main competitors (think about what job it is the customer would be hiring your company to do.) Also upload your Competitive SWOT. Remember it is not enough to simply list your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities or Threats. You must put them into context, either in the industry or against competitors or in light of anticipated trends from your PEST or Porters Five Forces Analysis.
Describe in depth your products or services as well as the pricing/fee for your product. Indicated as part of your analysis how you arrived at the price or what features or aspects make make your product/service unique. As part of your analysis it is important to also assess your product or service from your customers’ point of view. As such when you describe the features, explain which are the most important for your customer and why; what benefit does your product or service provide over your competitors.
What after sales services will you provide, if any (delivery, warranties, service contracts, refund policy, etc.)?

Utilizing the Marketing Strategy section of the Sample Market Plan Template provided, upload your Marketing Strategy. (You should see that many of the sections of the Market Plan are also part of other analysis [PEST, Porters from CA1] or your Business Plan, so this information will be provided within the final Business Plan and/or Market Plan that you submit as an appendix to your final CA.)
Week 10
Develop a Pitch Deck for your Business Plan using one of the models presented. Timing and visual presentation is important, so check out Guy Kawasaki from
about the 10/20/30 rule.
You can use PowerPoint, Prezi or video…target 5-10 minutes for purposes of this class.
Upload final Situational Analysis of your Three Short Term Goals and your Literature Review

Week 11
Upload your balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements. These financial statements should include details regarding key assumptions, such as penetration rates, operating margins, headcount, etc. It is essential that these assumptions are feasible. you should also incorporate some statement regarding the sources and uses of funds. The sources of funds primarily include outside investments (equity investments, bank loans, etc.) and operating revenues. Use of funds could include expenses involved with marketing, staffing, technology development, office space, etc.
Week 12
Upload a copy of your risk analysis plan (which is indicated in the Purpose Handbook as part of your situational analysis)
Upload your Analysis by Dimension and your Final Assemement of your Constructive Action progress (from Purpose Handbook)
Upload the last of your five Critical Logs. Remember that at least one of your critical logs must involve your field experiential learning and cover constructive actions you engaged in at your workplace, internship or with your mentor.

Week 13
Upload your final CA document with the Business Plan and Marketing Plan attached as an Appendix. Also upoad your Business Plan and Marketing plan as separate files.
